The Longest Week EVER!!!

When I leave the JP Morgan Christmas party Thursday night, I will not be back until 01/04/2010!! I am SOOOOOOO excited!! One of the few nice things about working for JPMC is that they require you to take a two week absence from the office on a yearly basis. So instead of starting with 2 or 3 weeks of vacation, you start with four. Well, mine is rapidly approaching!!! However, if the rest of the week goes by as slow as today has, it is going to take FOREVER.
Mike's family has a big Christmas party every year...we attended that Saturday night. I can promise you, there were some VERY hungover people around Sunday!! There was a karaoke machine, which I must report was hogged A LOT by my son and husband...
Yes, they are closet Karaoke freaks!! Mike actually sang a song that was NOT "Neon Moon!!' It was a load of fun...especially for those who were doing Jager Bombs and sucking down whiskey and 7's!! Case in point...meet Drunk, Drunkee, Drunker and Drunkest...not necessarily in that order!!

Fa La La La La....La La-La-Laaaaaa

Well, I FINALLY got my Christmas decorations out! The tree is up...
The stockings are hung by the chimney with care...
The wreath is on the door...THANKS Troop 772...
And my little helpers are all pooped out...

While I do miss my sweet little baby angel, I must admit I LOVE having an "almost" teenage daughter!! I can use anything and everything going on in her life to make her behave, help out, rub my feet...JUST KIDDING about the foot thing. It is great, it goes something like this... "Jordan, do you want to go to the movies tomorrow with your friends? Then you BETTER start helping me put up these Christmas decorations!!" "Jordan, do you want to go to Keaton's (her boyfriend) family Christmas party this Saturday? Then you BETTER make an A on both your Texas History AND Science tests this week!!" Tee hee hee...it is AWESOME!!! Hey...don't judge me!! ESPECIALLY if you are one of those "NON" breeder friends I have!!!

Anyway, Jackson has officially submitted his list for Christmas...and the good news is, I have already gotten A LOT of the stuff!! He still believes in the Fat Man in Red...but this is PROBABLY our last year for that. He told Mike and I the other day that these CRAZY girls in his YMCA after school group told him that there is no Santa Claus..."It is your parents dummy!" I asked him what he thought about that, and he said..."I told them I KNOW there is a Santa Claus, because he comes to my house EVERY year and brings me things that my Mom and Dad would NEVER buy for me!!" Gotta love him...

Sniffle Sniffle Cough Cough

Thanksgiving is over for another year...bring on the Fat man and his reindeer!! The Blue's got all their outdoor christmas lighting up...looks FABULOUS honey...and MOST of their tree decorated. Seems Momma Blue took some "night-time" cold medicine last night about an hour prior to the decorating and couldn't quite finish it up. Sorry kids!!!
I am getting SO SICK of the weather changes...wind from the south, wind from the north, wind from the south, wind from the north...and so on. I have not been able to breathe without Afrin for over a week now...UGH!! I have joined the ranks of the sneezing snotting masses at work and home...blegh...my least favorite part of this season!!
Mikey is back from Baton Rouge. Seems that the workers made it about a week before realizing that a paycheck is something you REALLY can't do without. It was nice to get that little pay bump though!! I will post some pictures of the house and tree sometime soon. Love to All...L

All The Leaves are Brown...And The Sky is Grey

Is it REALLY the second week of November already? Geez this year is flying by!! "My Baby Daddy" left for Baton Rouge this morning...and we really don't know when he will be back...could be tomorrow could be next year, all depends on what happens at their Baton Rouge plant. We love you sweetie and we are missing you already!! While I hate the thought of people being unemployed, especially at Christmas, I love the thought of the money he will be making. Tough spot.

For my hubby I have pulled together a list of the 5 best restaurants and 5 best attractions:

Restaurants:

1. Sullivan's Steakhouse
2. Louie's Cafe
3. Cafe Americain
4. Primo's Steak & Italian
5. TJ Ribs

Attractions:

1. St. Joseph's Cathedral
2. Belle of Baton Rouge
3. Magnolia Mound Plantation
4. Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center
5. Louisiana Art and science Museum

HMMMM...where is all the Creole and Cajun in this list?!?!?!?!

EEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkk

This is Nathan, my brother-in-law, and the host of a great costume party we attended Saturday night...kinda creepy ain't he!! It was loads of fun, we did all the typical Halloween costume party/kid's birthday party things. We did a mummy wrap, stuffed marshmallows in our mouth while repeatedly saying "chubby bunny", and carved pumpkins! It was my niece Lilah's 10th birthday, and she FINALLY did a Halloween themed party. There were great costumes, everything from Nathan here, to my kids...who came as an Angel and a Badman.

They are so cute aren't they?!?! This picture would lead one to believe that they get along SO WELL...NOT!!! Jordan is TOTALLY in costume as an Angel...and Jackson is going as "Cad Bane"...he is a bad bounty hunter on Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Uh Huh...Star Wars is STILL alive and making billions my friends. Of course Mike and I were our usual party pooper selves...we didn't dress up. I was kinda sad when I got there and saw that EVERYONE but us was in costume. Oh well. My soon to be nephew Chris actually came dressed as a hot-dog. What makes this EVEN FUNNIER is that I had JUST read an article in the Houston Chronicle that was talking about the worst costumes ever. Topping off the list was a man dressed a baby...followed up by a man dressed as a hot dog!!! I thought he was cute...you decide!!

Then you have the Angel dressed as a hot dog...
After that picture, I decided this party had headed south...it was time to go!!

I Know, I Know...It's Been A While...

My biggest (and possibly only) fan has been giving me grief about not updating my blog...but sometimes you are too busy...or just DON'T have anything worth sharing.
One of my favorite holidays is rapidly approaching. We put out all of our indoor Halloween decorations last weekend...but don't have anything out for the yard yet. I THINK I threw most of it away last year because it was getting pretty old...sigh...it is the same story every year with the lights for the Christmas tree!!
I LOVE Halloween...it signals Fall to me. The air is cooler, the kids are good and embedded in their new school year, and you see really cool decorations!!

Now don't get me wrong, I am no Martha Stewart...as I am sure AT LEAST one person reading this is (yes I mean you Stacy)...but we have some cool stuff that the kids LOVE. Take, for example, the Wolfman head that is hanging on the wall. It is motion sensitive, and when you walk by he howls, his eyes light up, his jaw starts moving, and he starts singing, "I'm your boogeyman, that's what I am..." Cheesy, yes I know, but the kids love him!! I also have an interesting assortment of pumpkins that light up and you put them in your windows.

I think I might try this mouse thing on the side here. Wonder where you can get a bunch of little fake mice? My cats will probably end up tearing them to shreds!! But it is totally cool looking. Ahhh the things I could do if I had a leeeeetle bit of time and a lot of money!

Another One Bites The Dust!!

Well, I must say, I am tres' proud of the UH Cougars!! Two huge wins, and a possible Heisman contender??? I have never been much of an alumni...my bad I know, but it was never really a school that inspired that, at least not for me. When I went there, I went to my classes and then went home. In my freshman year, I did pledge a sorority, and so had that interaction for about a year...but that got old pretty fast...especially after I met Mike. So anyway, Go COOGS!! Keep it up!! Maybe I should get myself a bumper sticker...or better yet one of those license plate brackets!! What do you think Stacy??? Should we both show our Cougar spirit on our car?!?!! (you can tool around Nashville with a UH sticker on your car...if you don't have room, just take off the "I Brake For Scrap Stores" sticker!!) JUST KIDDING...I already have ENOUGH crap glued to my back window!!

I am SO ready for Fall

It has been a LONG HOT Summer...right? I cannot be the only one who is ready for that first crisp Autumn morning to arrive. You know the one, where you walk out side and you shiver just a tad...your legs aren't stuck to the leather seats...you can't fry an egg on the dashboard when you get back to your car in the afternoon. I am ready to see some Halloween decorations...leaves falling from trees...people in Uggs and sweaters (ok...maybe not the Uggs).

Ok, no...it never gets this pretty in Houston. Pretty much the leaves are green and flourishing one minute and then brown and dead the next...but you get the idea. I love the Fall...Oct through Dec is probably my favorite time of the year. In Houston, you don't really get "cold" until late Dec into Jan...and then it only lasts a week or two, and it starts heating up again. The only drawback to my favorite time of year is that the days get shorter...MUCH shorter. I leave for work in the dark and by the time I get home it is dark...but to me it is worth it. Come on first cold front...or if you live in the South...cool front!!!

It is about the office...

Everyone is in an uproar about President Obama's upcoming address to the school-aged children of our nation.
Let me begin by saying, I do no like Barack Obama, and I certainly did not vote for Barack Obama. I do not agree with his politics, his agendas, or his socialist ideas on how to manage a country. That being said, he is still...by popular vote...The President of The United States of America. He deserves a modicum of respect from both parent and child alike. While I will agree that it seems strange to address our children directly when we, the parent, are not around, I would take this chance to remind everyone that George Bush Sr. did the exact same thing in 1991. This man cannot be dumb enough, or so full of himself, to think that he will be able to deliver an address that is in ANY WAY political in nature, and not suffer irreparable damage. I think he will become the "antichrist" in both Republican and Democratic minds alike (well except for maybe Nancy Pelosi).
The White House has now stated that it will release the transcript of what President Obama will say to our children on Monday, PRIOR to the address on Tuesday. I would suggest that evey parent read it before they decide to take their children out of what COULD turn out to be a very beneficial address from the President of The United States to all school age children on the importance of education and staying in school. Believe me, if I sense any attempt at "indoctrination" or political persuasion, I will choose NOT to let my children listen...but I am willing, out of respect for the office, to give him the chance to persuade my child to stay in school an pursue and education. Just my two cents...L

It Has Begun...AGAIN!!!

As most anyone with kids knows...
school is back in session. My babies headed off to 7th and 2nd grade yesterday!! I can hardly believe it. Look at this picture of Jordan...she can't possibly be this grown up already?!?! She is in Jr. High now at McCullough in The Woodlands. Ironically, McCullough USED to be a high school...the same high school that both her dad and her Aunt Penny attended...MANY moons ago. Now it is only big enough to house the 7th and 8th grades in the southern side of The Woodlands...crazy right?

Then we have "Lil Bro." This cutie patootie is in 2nd grade now...sigh...
Sorry...I have to go take my Geritol now. More later, love ya...LB

Turns Out...

...the Frio had enough water in it for us to have an enjoyable time. There was ONE float that was pretty good, so we did that twice. Other than the Happy Hollow float, we hung out in swimming holes, like this one:

The kids had a great time as well. We had nightly dance offs, and watched movies on the TV my sister and brother-in-law have.

In this picture you see Jackson and his cousin Chase...who were the primary contestants in each night's dance off. And here we have them singing and playing Air Guitar to Linkin Park's "What I've Done" :

Aren't they precious!!

The big kids thought this WAY beneath their coolness...although my 15 year old nephew did show Jackson and Chase a few moves.

Other than that, the trip was uneventful...HOT, but uneventful. We did have our usual "One Thing" happen to us on the way home. We did not get 10 miles from the campsite when I noticed that the back right tire to the camper was flat. Mike had to get out and change it. Last year it was a tire on Amy and Bobby's camper, the year before that it was the fuel pump on my Suburban...always something.

The Weekend is Upon Us

My "Mini-Me" is spending the week in Jackson Mississippi, she just flew out of Hobby Airport. I have never seen someone SO excited to get on a plane. She loves to fly...and for that I am glad. Some people are so afraid of flying that they never get to go anywhere in their lifetimes!!
Jackson has yet ANOTHER baseball tournament in League City this weekend. Yes, the World Series was SUPPOSED to be the last one of the season...but our coach found ONE MORE end of season Hoorah to sign us up for. The guys are all for it, so they will be headed down to League City all by their lonesomes tomorrow. The first game starts a 8 am...the coach wants them there at 7:15 am...that means they will have to leave The Woodlands around 5:45 am. The Woodlands is about 80 miles from League City. These are pool games, so i am not going to go. I seriously need to spend some time on my house...THAT I AM TRYING TO SELL!!!
The Frio River trip is coming up, and from the looks of things, we are going to be sitting in puddles, NOT floating down a river. Beer...LOTS AND LOTS of beer...that should help matters immensely!!

Where To Begin...Where To Begin???

Well, as Glenda the Good Witch of the East said..."It's always best to begin at the beginning..."
Jackson's team got 2nd place in the 7U Nations World Series. It was a long, HOT, grueling week, but they hung in there!!

Then shortly after posing for this picture...the next day...Jackson did this...

Yes, I know, you just threw up in your mouth a little...we hear that a lot. Luckily, as bad as this looks, it was only dislocated, and he is up and running around again. Tough little guy that one!!

I Must Say...

I have a SEVERE case of vacation envy this year.

My friend Stacy is on an Alaskan Cruise right now...which at first mention sounded BORING to me...but after reading her blogs about what all they are doing, it sounds AMAZING!!

Now I find out that my neighbors across the street are going on a 7 night trip to Playa Del Carmen and staying at the same "all-inclusive" Iberostar resort that we stayed at 4 years ago...and had a FREAKING BLAST...even though a hurricane came. Ce la vie... the Blues are only doing the Frio this year. Gotta save those Benjamins...incase Mama Blue is on un-employment later this year.

Jackson's team is in the 7U World Series this week, so he and Mike are spending every waking moment in Humble. They are still playing the "Seed" games, as they were rained out (Hallelujah) yesterday!! We desperately needed the rain, so no one is complaining about the rain out.
UPDATE: Wolverines seeded 1st place...AGAIN!! Games aplenty today!! Go WOLVERINES!!!

Day 3 and I am DYING!!!

So, I haven't been sleeping well at night. My friend Shannon suggested that I might have too much caffiene in my system when I go to sleep at night, plus I have noticed that I consume A LOT...so I have decided to cut down my intake. I am not having ANY soda, coffee, or tea at present, and while I admit I did actually sleep pretty good last night, I feel like ASS right now. Kinda like a hangover without the upset stomach.

Still not a lot of water on the hill country. I guess we will still be going...there are still pools in the river to play in, just not going to be doing any good floating!! It will be fun though, I am trying REALLY hard these days to think positive thoughts. That being said, my head is still on the chopping block at work. I have had 3 interviews so far, but nothing has panned out for me. While I will admit to being scared about this, I also know that God has a plan for me. Whether or not it is staying at JPMC, or going somewhere else, OR (worst case) being a stay at home mom for a while and REALLY making drastic changes to our lives at home...Mike and I agree that it could be SO much worse. At least we are not alone in this world, or were just told that one of us have some sort of terminal disease or something like that. Okay, enough of being morbid...

No big plans for the 4th. Jackson's baseball team is in the World Series, and that Hoo-Hah starts on Sunday...Opening Day parade, all kinds of fun stuff. Everyone please stay safe, and be sure to tip your designated driver!!! Love L

It Is FREAKING HOT!!!

As my friend Stacy said on her blog and my husband Mike says ALL THE TIME...it is Africa Hot!! I read somewhere that the sun has been very 'dormant" this year...uh, calling bullshit on that one!! To me, dormant implies cooler somehow. We have broken records all week so far in Houston with temps over 100 degrees. Now while I know we are not the only ones who are hot, we have also had the added pleasure of ZERO RAINFALL. Everything is withering, the pretty green grass we had in late April and early May is now turning brown. We have our annual vacation planned to the Frio for August 1-8...but we are rethinking that one. They said the river has ZERO flow right now. It is spring fed, and the springs are low...low...low.
OK...maybe not THAT low...but too low to float.

On a lighter note...I had to take a "Psycho Metric" examination yesterday for a job interview. I am not going to name the company, but suffice it to say that was the biggest bunch of BS I have ever had to go through in my career. First of all, they said the test was supposed to take anywhere from 3.5 to 4 hours...excuse me, I'm sorry, WHAT did you just say??? Yes, 4 hours. There is a timed abstract portion, a timed verbal (which isn't really verbal, as it is all written), a timed mathematical, and then a "personality assessment"!! All of this is done, BEFORE you actually ever sit down face to face and talk to someone. Seriously, they weed out people based on how they do on this RIDICULOUS test. I didn't even finish the math part, and it sure did not take me 4 hours...took me 2 hours. The timed portion of the exams only added up to one hour, so that means they expected it to take me 2 hours to finish their personality assessment...PUH HUH HUH LEEZE...

Other than that, the only other thing going on is baseball (of course). Jackson has State this weekend...actually it starts at 3 pm Friday afternoon. Apparently people in LaPorte don't work on Fridays. I feel a "personal day" coming on!!!

Friday, June 19, 2009

TGIF

Need I say more? Looks like I am getting into a habit of posting on Fridays...hmmm...wonder if it has anything to do with my inability to focus on work?!?!
No baseball this weekend...a crawfish boil at Mike's bosses house...thrilling. Well, at least there is crawfish!!

OOOHOOO WEE Cher dat looks bien!!! Now my mouth is watering!!! A few pounds of those bad boys and a few Miller Lites...sounds like a GOOD weekend!!!

Drivers...START YOUR ENGINES

Well...lets hope our weekend doesn't go by as fast as this car. I would prefer my weekend go more like this... There we go...that is more my speed.

OK...the weekend!! We have baseball this weekend. This tournament, State in two weeks, and then the "World Series" July 5-11, and then we are done for a while...I think I already posted this, but it bears repeating.
I had interviews last week with two companies...and I am SUPPOSED to have one next week, so things are moving on the job front. While I have STILL not been "officially" told I am being let go...I'm NOT waiting around. This is promising, and I would really appreciate it if everyone said an extra little prayer for me. I would really like to get this resolved and behind me. It just sucks always being in this state of uncertainty.
Jordan is gone to the lake with Amy and Bobby and the boys. I am sure they are having a blast on Lake Livingston. Mike and I actually had the WHOLE HOUSE to ourselves last night. Jackson spent the night with Chase and Jordan was gone...hmmmmm that song "Bad Things" by Jace Everett (the theme song to True Blood) is running through my head right now...literally...it is playing on my iPod (GET YOUR MINDS OUT OF THE GUTTER!!!)

Season 2 of True Blood starts Sunday night on HBO. While I LOVE the show, I highly recommend the books. Books are always better!!! True Blood is kinda like Twilight in that those who have read the books are on either Team Bill or Team Eric. I personally am on Team Eric...he is just a way cooler vampire and sexier than poor brooding old Vampire Bill. Now Sookie has had some other love interests in the books, but when the smoke clears it all comes back to either Bill or Eric!!! Here are picture of those sexy vamps...you decide!!!
Bill

or Eric...

I hope everyone has a great weekend...God Bless!! Love L

Face Book vs. The BLOG!!!

Apparently I do not post often enough on my blog for some of you. The "You" being those of you NOT on Facebook. Those who are on FB tell me..."yeah, I already read that on Facebook the other day." I am sorry that I tend to neglect the blog in favor of Facebook...I will try and do better!!

Not much is going on with the Blue's. House is still up for sale, we just dropped it $8K...so it is really a steal now!! Someone is actually looking at it as I write this...from work, while there are people looking at my house, that my kids have been in all day...sigh...

Jordan and I went and toured an Assisted Living Community last night, we are going to start volunteering. It was really neat, and Jordan is excited about doing it. We were going into the Alzheimers Unit when we were stopped at the door by some comotion from a resident. She was fairly new to the place (her husband and family only recently made the decision to put her into constant care), so she was confused as to where she was, and where her husband was. I thought it would freak Jordan out, and she would not want to continue, but it didn't. She actually became MORE interested and said that she thought all the lady really needed was someone to talk to...(it is moments like that when I realize that I may actually be doing a decent job as a Mom!!)

More bad-boy baseball this weekend...a tournament in Cy Fair. We have this one, then State in two weeks, and then the World Series July 5-11...then it is over with for awhile...Hallelujah!!! It is actually a ton of fun to watch, but stressful, and the traveling SUCKS!!!

What's That Old Meatloaf Song...Two Outta Three Ain't Bad

Jackson's baseball team, The Wolverines, has taken the top spot in two of the three tournaments they have been in. This past weekend we played in Katy. Every game up to the championship game, we blew the other team away. The championship game was a much closer, much more exciting game. We were actually down in the 4th inning 10-3, but managed to come back in the 6th inning and win it 11-10!! GO WOLVERINES!!! Now I have 2 first place trophies on my fireplace in the living room. Each time I suggest that we move these up to Jackson's room with the rest of his trophies, I get the evil eye from both him and his Dad. Here are some pictures from the game.

Jackson Catching
The team with their trophies...Jackson is dead center on his knees...
And of course the team with their FANTASTIC coaches
Jackson hit his first out of the park home run in this tournament...it was incredible!! It was a beautiful 2 run - over the fence homer!! We actually had 4 boys hit it out of the park...Broc, Jackson, Tyson, and CJ...these are 7 year olds!! Something in the water in Montgomery County I think.

Just Sit Right Back and You'll Hear A Tale...

It all started out with my alarm clock going off at 5 a.m. on a Sunday morning...it can't get any worse than this right?? WRONG!!! We finally leave the house at 5:45 a.m. and are on I-45 racing along when Mike looks in the rearview mirror and says "Oh Shit"...NOT something you want to hear when you are towing a $36,000 boat behind you, going 70 miles an hour. Apparently the hook and strap that KEEPS THE BOAT CONNECTED TO THE TRAILER has snapped. Oh shit is right!! We manage to pull over in a deserted parking lot in a part of town affectionately known as "Gunspoint" (it USED to be called Greenspoint when I was a kid). Mike fixes the strap and we are on our way once again, and by this time the sun has started coming up...ahhh things are looking up, only a few clounds...we continue on our 95 mile trek south to the Texas City Dike.

Ok, at mile 95...when we are pulling into the marina...another "Oh SHIT" erupts from our captain. It appears that Mike has left ALL OF THE LIFE JACKETS at home in the garage...ok, this is starting to get irritating and expensive. We pull back out of the marina and go in search of a Wal-Mart, which believe it or not, turns out to be a feat of monumental proportions...but we find one, get new life jackets, and head back towards the marina!! The truck actually makes it down the boat ramp this time, and the motor of the boat is in the water before we run into our next problem...the f#&%ing thing won't start...that's it, take me home, I'm done. Well the guy who owns the boat docks is either high as a kite at 8:30 in the morning, or he is one of the happiest people I have ever met. He hooks us up with a battery charger, and proceeds to instruct Mike in nauseating detail on each and every thing he should do to charge the battery, start the boat, how to keep it running, etc ( and for those of you who know Mike, you know this is KILLING HIM). Well, we let the thing charge for about 15 minutes, at which point both Mike and Mr. Happy both agree it should be MORE than charged now...so here it goes down the boat ramp again...NOTHING...NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING. At this point I am ready to shoot someone. I start trying to placate the kids with some other idea of what we can spend what is left of the day doing, once we drive the 95 miles back to the house, when this man pulls up beside us to trailer his boat (he has already been out and caught his fish, as he only paid for the economy plan and didn't get to experience all the fun things we did that morning). He proceeds to tell Mr. Happy about the bone-headed thing he did in not putting one of his plugs in right...when we get YET ANOTHER "OH Shit" from Mike. Apparently he forgot that there is a safety lanyard that has to be attached BEFORE the motor will start...hmmmm...where have I heard this before...hmmmm...let me think...oh yeah, that's right, Lake Conroe at the beginning of last summer...SAFTEY LANYARD MICHAEL!!! What, what is that sound? Oh my, it is the sound of a Yamaha purring away...YEAH!!!

Well, for those of you who are looking for more hilarity, sorry, but it was pretty much smooth sailing from there on out, and we actually ended up having a blast. Jackson and I were the only ones who caught anything...and only Jackson's were keepers. He caught 5 Spanish Mackerel. It was the funniest thing I ever saw and heard. Those fish can fight, and my poor scrawny baby was having a time of it. He kept saying "Help me Dad, Help me." On the second one he caught we almost lost him and the reel to the Mackerel instead of the other way around.
I don't know if you can tell from that picture, but the boy was scared of that fish. Those are some UGLY suckers, and they have a lot of teeth, and Jackson wasn't letting that thing get anywhere near him!!
Yeah, he was all puffed up about it...and now refers to himself as the King of Fishing. My poor baby Jordan never hooked anything...but I think she still had a blast!!!
I think we could possibly still be out there now, but unfortunately when we took a break for lunch, this rolled in...
and since my Mama didn't raise no fool, Mike and I decided NOT to press our luck...given the way the day started out!!!

God Bless The 3 Day Weekend

Or 4 day if you are lucky enough to be on your 9/80 Friday like my husband!! I don't know what it is about the Friday before a 3 day weekend, but it always feels like the last day of school!!

We are going fishing on Sunday off of the jettys in Texas City...groan...(just kidding Mikey, don't get your undies in a bunch). Here is a picture of THE ONLY fish we caught the last time we went fishing off the jettys...after HOURS of fishing. Mike seems to think we will do better this time...
Needless to say that one got thrown back, much to Jordan's dismay. That is the funny thing about fishing, if you are catching stuff, it is all smiles, if you are NOT catching stuff, you get this...
Other than the fishing on Sunday we really don't have any big plans for the weekend...relaxing, hanging out. Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend, and don't forget to tip your Designated Driver...yeah, that's right, I went there!!! Love ya'll...L

The Weekend Already Came?...and Went??

This was one of those weekends where you can't sit down for 5 seconds to catch your breath.

It started off on Friday night, with Jordan having friends over for a talent show rehearsal at the same time Jackson had to be taken to a sleep over birthday party at the same time Mike had to be getting his butt to his Friday night softball games. We finished all that up with beer and crawfish at Wolfies!!!
Up bright and early Saturday morning...Jordan and I had to be at Confirmation rehearsal at 10, and Mike had to go get Jackson. After the rehearsal, Jordan and I had to go to the mall to shop for a dress...then we had to high tail it to Lupe Tortilla's for my niece Brittany's graduation party (she graduated from SHSU...GO BRITTANY!!!) I had to leave the party at 5:30 to get Jordan to a friend's house to babysit...then I went home and pretty much passed out.

Sunday morning we were at the church at 9:30. Jordan was baptised and confirmed!! Yeah Jordan!!! Here is a picture of my pretty princess before the service...
Gorgeous isn't she?!?!?! Her brother had to have his picture taken as well...
Once we got out of the church...at 2:00PM...we had to rush home, change clothes, and get our butts over to the Wolverine's Team Pool Party. The people hosting the party had THE MOST beautiful pool I have ever seen at a private home. Here are some pictures...

The waterfall and slide...ONE of the grottos... And of course Jordan in the Hot Tub... JEALOUS MUCH!!!

LOST...Need I Say More?!?!

Ok, for those of you who ARE NOT "LOST", first of all...you have my sympathies, second of all...I have all the seasons on DVD, talk to me.
The season finale was FREAKING AWESOME!! The guys who write and think up the stuff on this show have my undying admiration as there has NEVER been another show like this one...and I doubt there ever will be.
Juliette...hated her when she first hit the show, but after last night's episode, she is right up there at the top of my list. I was totally sobbing when she was falling down the shaft, and Sawyer was hanging on to her hand saying "I GOT YOU...DON'T YOU LET GO (crying and bleeding all the while)" but she could see that he was going to get killed if he kept hanging on...she is looking up at him, while all sorts of crap is raining down around her...and she starts screaming...I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH...as she wrenches her hand away and falls down the shaft (I have chills just writing this). That was just ONE of the great scenes...the finale was 2 hours long. The bummer part is that the last shot they showed was ...LOST 2010...AAARRRGH!!! That is like 8 months from now!!! Gives the word LOST a new meaning!!! Love to all...L

Pictures

This is the first picture I took with my camera...obviously he is having a good time...and NO, he is not Chinese.

I took this right after we bought the camera and then went to Berryhill for some drinks...so Mike could get over the sticker shock!!

This is of course my sweetie pies. Don't they look adorable?!?!? Don't let it fool ya...

And then there are the cats. Now this first cat, Maggie, is a BEEOTCH!! Mean cat...Pure Evil...as the look in the photo tells you...this looks says...I WILL get you for this.
And then there is Fat Louie...quite possibly the sweetest cat on the planet. Doesn't even know he has claws and teeth. We always say jokingly that he has a French accent and is telling us...You people make my ass twitch.
