While I do miss my sweet little baby angel, I must admit I LOVE having an "almost" teenage daughter!! I can use anything and everything going on in her life to make her behave, help out, rub my feet...JUST KIDDING about the foot thing. It is great, it goes something like this... "Jordan, do you want to go to the movies tomorrow with your friends? Then you BETTER start helping me put up these Christmas decorations!!" "Jordan, do you want to go to Keaton's (her boyfriend) family Christmas party this Saturday? Then you BETTER make an A on both your Texas History AND Science tests this week!!" Tee hee hee...it is AWESOME!!! Hey...don't judge me!! ESPECIALLY if you are one of those "NON" breeder friends I have!!!
Anyway, Jackson has officially submitted his list for Christmas...and the good news is, I have already gotten A LOT of the stuff!! He still believes in the Fat Man in Red...but this is PROBABLY our last year for that. He told Mike and I the other day that these CRAZY girls in his YMCA after school group told him that there is no Santa Claus..."It is your parents dummy!" I asked him what he thought about that, and he said..."I told them I KNOW there is a Santa Claus, because he comes to my house EVERY year and brings me things that my Mom and Dad would NEVER buy for me!!" Gotta love him...
Ok, no...it never gets this pretty in Houston. Pretty much the leaves are green and flourishing one minute and then brown and dead the next...but you get the idea. I love the Fall...Oct through Dec is probably my favorite time of the year. In Houston, you don't really get "cold" until late Dec into Jan...and then it only lasts a week or two, and it starts heating up again. The only drawback to my favorite time of year is that the days get shorter...MUCH shorter. I leave for work in the dark and by the time I get home it is dark...but to me it is worth it. Come on first cold front...or if you live in the South...cool front!!!
The kids had a great time as well. We had nightly dance offs, and watched movies on the TV my sister and brother-in-law have.
Aren't they precious!!
The big kids thought this WAY beneath their coolness...although my 15 year old nephew did show Jackson and Chase a few moves.
Other than that, the trip was uneventful...HOT, but uneventful. We did have our usual "One Thing" happen to us on the way home. We did not get 10 miles from the campsite when I noticed that the back right tire to the camper was flat. Mike had to get out and change it. Last year it was a tire on Amy and Bobby's camper, the year before that it was the fuel pump on my Suburban...always something.
Then shortly after posing for this picture...the next day...Jackson did this...
Still not a lot of water on the hill country. I guess we will still be going...there are still pools in the river to play in, just not going to be doing any good floating!! It will be fun though, I am trying REALLY hard these days to think positive thoughts. That being said, my head is still on the chopping block at work. I have had 3 interviews so far, but nothing has panned out for me. While I will admit to being scared about this, I also know that God has a plan for me. Whether or not it is staying at JPMC, or going somewhere else, OR (worst case) being a stay at home mom for a while and REALLY making drastic changes to our lives at home...Mike and I agree that it could be SO much worse. At least we are not alone in this world, or were just told that one of us have some sort of terminal disease or something like that. Okay, enough of being morbid...
No big plans for the 4th. Jackson's baseball team is in the World Series, and that Hoo-Hah starts on Sunday...Opening Day parade, all kinds of fun stuff. Everyone please stay safe, and be sure to tip your designated driver!!! Love L
I took this right after we bought the camera and then went to Berryhill for some drinks...so Mike could get over the sticker shock!!
This is of course my sweetie pies. Don't they look adorable?!?!? Don't let it fool ya...
