Swine Flu...Seriously?...Really?

Does this little guy look like he could kill anyone? STOP FREAKING OUT PEOPLE!! I was watching a very interesting news segment last night where a high ranking doctor at the Texas Medical Center pointed out that between January 1st and now approximately 13,000 people have died of the "normal" NON-swine flu...why are we not FREAKING OUT about that. One good thing that is coming from this is that the state of the economy has been moved to page 2 of EVERY SINGLE NEWS OUTLET there is...internet and print, world-wide. My little friend Wilbur up there is now headline news!!! We are actually having to come up with a "Pandemic Swine-Flu Plan" at our office now...seriously...I am not joking. Chin Up people, before you know it, Swine-Flu will be a distant memory and we will be on to our annual "FREAK-OUT" about...you guessed it...WEST NILE!!!

I Hate This Part

So our house has been on the market a little over one week now. It has shown 5 times already. I absolutely HATE the part where "you have to keep your house in pristine condition at all times, because you never know when someone will want to see it." UGH...although I will admit that it feels nice to come home at night and NOT be looking at this piled up on the couch...

We can get it washed just fine, it is putting it up that we can't seem to figure out!!!

Jackson has started playing for a new Tournament Baseball Team...the Wolverines!! They are actually pretty good. They had a tournament last weekend, and one this weekend...it is a lot of fun to watch. He is SO cute in his baseball uniform...

He takes it pretty seriously...and his number is ALWAYS #9, because he thinks he is the next Hunter Pence!!

Come to think of it...they do have a lot of similarities...notice the looks on their faces!!!

We are scoping out options of where to go...we are THINKING about moving closer to the beach. Saturday we loaded up the kids in the Suburban and headed on down to South Shore Harbour...in the pouring rain...who knew that they would have THE MOST RAIN they have ever had in like...EVER. Streets were flooded everywhere...we saw cars floating and spinning on SSH Blvd, like they were in a toilet. It was crazy. But...we DID get to see where we would and WOULD NOT live if we move down there.

Maybe the good looking Governor from the Great State of Texas is on to something!!! Now while I doubt that he is being serious, I like the idea of stirring people up. I think that reminding the American People that "officials in Washington have abandoned the country's founding principles of limited government" in favor of drowning the country in taxes, debt, and government controlled businesses is a good thing. To my friends and family who live outside the Great State of Texas I say...get here QUICK before we secede and Washington issues an imbargo against us!!!

So, the "Tea Parties"...how awesome was that. There was a HUGE one in downtown Houston, just right outside the building where I work. They had expected 2,000 or so people...I heard over 5,000 showed up!!! As Mike and I were driving by, I saw a lady holding a sign that I ABSOLUTELY LOVED, it said..."DON'T spread my wealth...SPREAD MY WORK ETHIC!!!" How perfect is that? I want to get that printed on a T-Shirt!!!

It's All Good

I figured that it was about time to get rid of "Axe In The Head" guy as the first thing you see when you enter my blog. Everything seems MUCH rosier to me this week...more so than last week. The outlook on me keeping or not keeping my job seems better...though NOT certain. I have also been contacted by two head hunters this week...coincidentally or not, that makes me feel better!!!
It is April in Texas, and the temperature has actually gotten down into the 30's twice this week...WHAT THE FREAK!!! Now they are saying rain for this Sunday. Speaking of Sunday...am I the only person who DOES NOT have their kids Easter baskets ready? Happy Easter everyone...L

Uh...What The HELL Just Happened?!?!

That would be me on Tuesday when my boss called me into her office and gave me the information I have been expecting for a few months...My job is being eliminated, and if I don't find something else within the company by the end of September (when a project I am on wraps up), I will be severed. If you notice the look in the guys eye ALONG with the axe sticking out of this head, you get the general gist of how I felt. Even expecting something...it is still like a punch to the gut...or axe to the head. It has taken me a couple of days to get over the initial shock, but I am good now. I am actually very lucky that my boss was kind enough to give me so much warning...that does not usually happen. Normally they call you in, tell you adios and escort you out the door. So...I am about to begin the daunting task of job hunting. I am not one to change jobs frequently...mainly because I HATE TO INTERVIEW!!! Ce la vie. Now, I don't want everyone FREAKING OUT...every thing will be fine. I would appreciate your prayers ...but other than that, there isn't much anyone can do (unless you are in the energy industry and hear of a great opportunity!!!) Love to all...L
